What is mentorship ?

  1. Mentor need not to be teacher/trainer but s/he must have experience in similar domain. If you are planning for mountaineering , you need experienced person who had already been there.
  2. Mentor should help in clearing confusion. For example : Lord Krishna discussion with Arjuna in war field(Mahabharat) is now case study for management folks.
  3. Mentor should identify hidden capabilities of mentee. We have example of Ramayana where Jamwant reminded Hanuman ji for his capabilities.
  4. Mentor should not be biased for any domain as per his/her capability. S/he should explain all aspects of career in particular domain.
  5. Mentor should be easily approachable for quick pointers related to career.
  6. Mentor should provide direct feedback on both soft and hard skills.
